Farewell Message – Read at the funeral of Nguyen Khanh Dong Nghi
 
Dear friends, and family members of the funeral of Nguyen Khanh Dong Nghi,
 
Today, with our friends and relatives, we come here to pay the visit to a young friend, a tenderly care sister, a lovely niece, a responsibility wife, and a virtuous mother, sister Nguyen Khanh Dong Nghi goes to the other world with her Ancesters, a world that bares no pain, a world that every traveler once crossing would not want to return.
 
Sister Nguyen Khanh Dong Nghi born on April 10, 1979 at Go Cong, Vietnam and passed away on March 22, 2010 at Baltimore, Maryland, USA. At the age of 30.
 
One day in 10 years ago a pair of two, Dong Nghi and Minh Triet, met and fell in love after Minh Triet’s trip back to visit Vietnam. Since then the image of sister Nguyen Khanh Dong Nghi became familiar with friends here, and numerous whispers admire a perfect beauty of a Vietnamese girl. And since then mails exchange come and go between the pair of two, asking for a match-maker, and one year later at the age of twenty, just finish high school, sister Nguyen Khanh Dong Nghi left her country to become a bride in the far land. And we came to know her better because she is the virtuous wife of Minh Triet, our friend and co-worker. 
 
Leaving your home country Vietnam, leaving behind your parents your brother and sister, leaving your friends and relatives, and leaving behind a wealthy life you go and bring with you the dream and search for a better place to build your own family, a place where human are valued more. You want to reach out and grow with others and you want to be a free person. You want to search for a place where your life and thoughts will not be bounded by dictator regulations. You want your children be free to breath the fresh and rich environment, be free in their thoughts and be free in their actions. Those of your dreams are coming through in reality, your children are naturally grown up, and you are happily sharing each and every responsibility role in your family.
 
But life is not always fare, and you lost in the middle of your way. You left this life at a very young age, you left behind an old mother and sister and brother, and you left behind your young children and a faithful husband. You’ve gone and bringing with you thousands of missing and leaving behind a half full basket of sadness love!
 
Now the family responsibilities are no longer on your shoulders. We are praying for your children to quickly and wisely grow up so that you will be smiling from the other world. And we are praying for your soul soon to reach the Haven, a place where God reserves for nicely people like you but suffer losses on Earth.
 
We respectfully lowered in front of your soul, we sincerely share the sadness with your family. We’re praying for your country homeland truly Independent - Freedom - and Happiness so that there will be no more young people leaving their family in search for a better place.
 
And finally we want to say the farewell to you.
