Vietnamese students get a chance to have both their dreams and English language skills appreciated as the Australian Consulate General in HCMC today announced its English Language Essay Competition themed “My Dream.”
The contest is co-hosted by the Australian Consulate General, the Saigon Times Weekly, and the PepsiCo International.

The Australian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City Presents:
“My Dream”
English Language Essay Competition

High School and University students are invited to write an essay expressing their dreams, visions and concerns for the future. Tell us what ‘Your Dream’ is and share with everyone your English Language skills!

Entry is open to all high-school and University level students of Vietnamese background. Entries will be sorted into categories, based on the age of the author at the time of receipt of the essay.

Constestant groups
· Junior group 16 years of age or younger
· Senior group 17 – 25 years of age
Essay length
· Junior group 800 – 1,000 words
· Senior group 1,200 – 1,500 words

Prizes 16 or Younger 16-25 Years of age
First Place VND 4,000,000 VND 5,000,000
Second Place VND 2,000,000 VND 3,000,000
Third Place VND 1,000,000 VND 1,500,000
14 Consolation Prizes VND 300,000 VND 500,000

The first 20 valid entries received will receive a free gift! All valid entries received by the due date will be considered for prizes as outlined above and the top 12 essays will be compiled into a booklet.

Entries close 31 December 2004. No entries will be accepted if received after this date.

Condition:
Winners will be selected from all valid entries by a panel of judges. The judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Only individual entries will be accepted – No group efforts and limit entry per person.
The competition is open to Vietnamese citizens only.
Typed essays are highly recommended with 1.5 lines spacing.
